My grandma (Mimi) got a new camera because her old one broke, so she gave me the old one to try to fix.  I took it apart but wasn't able to fix it, so once I decided it was un-fixable I tore it apart as much as I could.  I didn't keep most of the pictures, but here are a few pictures of the guts of a point-and-shoot camera from 10ish years ago.

Arduino electronics can be an expensive hobby, but it doesn't have to be.   If you want legitimate parts shipped in a timely manner you can buy them from Sparkfun, Adafruit, or some other respected outlet.

 During summer of 2014 I went to Tennessee's Governors School for Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  I took the engineering course, where we learned about a variety of different engineering fields.  Fun fact, we visited more than 20 different university labs over the course of the 5-week program.
